Camera Function Doesn't Work (Cannot Load Photos From Camera Roll, Scan Registration or VIN) in Apple iOS or Android

Camera & Photos / Registration & VIN Scanner Not Working

You must allow the EvalExpert app access to your camera and photo library (Storage) in your devices settings for the app to function correctly. 

Examples of error messages for this access issue are below.

Registration Plate / VIN Scanner Error

White (iOS) or blank (Android) screen.

Camera Error

Black camera screen, showing the vehicle silhouette, however not showing the camera view finder.

Photo Library Error

Blank photo library screen.

The Solution

iPhone

To do this on iPhone: Go to Settings > EvalExpert and allow camera / photos access by changing the 'Camera' toggle so that the switch is green. Ensure the 'Photos' shows 'Read and Write'.

Android

To do this on Android: Go to Settings > Apps (or Application Manager) > Permissions.

Then select the EvalExpert App and allow 'Camera' and 'Storage' access for the EvalExpert app.

NOTE: To get the most out of EvalExpert, we recommend allowing full permissions for the app - this ensures all features available in the app function correctly.
